About the role:

Gartner’s High-Tech Research Group advises technology companies on the strategic business issues that help make them successful in their market. The Technology Buying Dynamics team shares insights on evolving buying dynamics and the implications on product, marketing, and sales strategies. Analysts ensure clients receive the best strategic business advice, support, and direction for decision-making. Research targets data from varied sources to develop insights about tech decision makers, challenging conventional wisdom and shaping engagement strategies and product approaches. Gartner Analysts create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for world-leading organizations. A Senior Director leads within Gartner’s Research and Advisory sector through exceptional research and analytical skills to produce pragmatic and provocative research and engage clients through in-person and virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences." What you will do: Applying buying insights to shape persona development, storytelling, product strategy, sales engagement approaches, and content strategies

Work with organizations in every technology segment in North America, EMEA and across the world, from startups to the largest tech companies. You’ll help them address their unique challenges.

Specifically, you’ll work with executives and their teams responsible for product, marketing, and sales strategies

Responsibilities for the position include: Create innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have research” content

Creating materials for delivering face-to-face and video-based presentations and discussions with clients

Ensuring integrity of our research and maintain Gartner independence

Work with both the immediate team and across Gartner to support research efforts, including: Providing high quality and timely peer review

Collaborating to develop strong positions that drive engagement

Exploring new data sources and primary research opportunities

What you will need: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent industry experience

12+ years of relevant experience in roles that required understanding executive level decision makers for technology-related purchases and engaging with them to represent your organization’s products and/or services

Experience working with both traditional (e.g. CIO, CISO) and non-traditional (e.g. CMO, CSO, CPO) decision-making roles

Product Marketing, Product/Offering Management, or Sales Engineering experience desired

Demonstrated critical thinking skills and creativity

Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders

Stellar writing and presentation skills

Ability to work in a self-motivated manner within a collaborative team environment

Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables

Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; apply patterns and frameworks to draw and defend conclusions to client challenges

Strong communicator who can explain complex concepts concisely and simply

Subject matter expert comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements

Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams in a multicultural global team

Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A base salary range for this role is 152,000 USD - 190,000 USD. Actual salaries vary by education, training, experience, and location. Eligible candidates may participate in an annual bonus plan or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. We offer generous PTO, a 401k match up to 7,200 USD per year, stock purchase options, and more.
