Overview
What a Director, Credit Card Products, does at Visa:
Reporting to the SD, Credit Card Products, the role-holder will be responsible for initiatives across three broad areas of responsibility: Credit Product best practices, Drive credit innovation, and Facilitate Visa thought-leadership. The role involves collaborating with regional teams and global stakeholders to develop end-to-end consumer experiences that drive client preference for Visa as a strategic partner and to enable superior value propositions for digitally-enabled consumers.
An essential part of Visa’s success is the establishment and application of rules and standards to ensure a uniform, reliable point-of-sale UX online and offline. The Director will administer these Rules and Standards for Credit Products, ensuring they are fit-for-purpose and efficiently operated.
The role includes identifying, developing, commercializing and launching new ways to grow the consumer credit business as part of Visa’s 2030 strategy, working with regional teams, global stakeholders and Visa issuers to expand credit-card issuance and newer methods of providing unsecured credit. The Director will also collate, analyze and disseminate best practices and recommendations for optimal Credit Product performance, working with Visa Consulting & Analytics.
You will be highly collaborative and act as the key interface between market teams and Visa’s global team to ensure platforms drive product differentiation, activation and engagement. You will work with regional, client-facing teams and colleagues across Product, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Client Services, Finance, Pricing, Legal and Compliance.
Responsibilities
Lead identification, development and execution of Credit product best practices to drive usage, activation and preference for Visa among issuers and consumers.
Drive credit innovation through initiatives aligned with Visa 2030 strategy to expand traditional credit card issuance and provide credit beyond card issuance.
Facilitate Visa thought-leadership by developing viewpoints on economic and other trends, and establish Visa’s leadership in optimizing consumer access to credit.
Collaborate with regional teams and stakeholders to develop end-to-end consumer experiences that drive client preference for Visa as a strategic partner.
Establish and apply Rules and Standards for Credit Products; ensure they are fit-for-purpose and efficiently administered.
Identify, develop, commercialize and launch new methods to grow the consumer credit business; work with issuers to expand issuance and provide unsecured credit solutions.
Collate, analyze and disseminate best practices and recommendations for internal and external audiences, in collaboration with Visa Consulting & Analytics.
Serve as a key interface between market teams and Visa’s global team to ensure platforms differentiate and engage consumers.
Collaborate with Product, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Client Services, Finance, Pricing, Legal and Compliance.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: 10+ years with a Bachelor’s, or 8+ years with an Advanced Degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications: 12+ years with a Bachelor’s, or 8–10 years with an Advanced Degree, or 6+ years with a PhD. 13–15+ years of experience in payments industry with 8–10 years in product development/management/strategy are desirable.
Experience in financial services, fintechs, telecom, retail and ecommerce is an advantage.
Proven experience in P&L ownership and understanding of macroeconomics, consumer behavior, product operations and business processes.
Strong credentials in delivering product and business solutions; keen interest in payment technology and innovation.
Understanding of network products, rules, and technology is advantageous.
Strategic thought leadership with execution capability to drive initiatives and achieve key results.
Strong business acumen, analytical skills and understanding of new technology payment models and profitability drivers.
Understanding of Visa business and organization is preferred.
Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing local and remote teams and dotted-line/extended teams globally.
Master’s Degree in business, engineering or related field.
Work, Travel & Physical Requirements Work Hours:
Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires travel 5–10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements:
This position will be performed in an office setting requiring sitting and standing at a desk, communication in person and by telephone, and use of standard office equipment.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 178,400 to 258,750 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments. Salary may vary based on factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
