The ideal candidate is a confident storyteller who connects authentically with Hispanic audiences, understands the dynamics of the South Florida market, and thrives in a fast-paced newsroom. This role involves anchoring live newscasts in Spanish, contributing to story development, and representing the MegaTV brand both on-air and in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Anchor live Spanish-language newscasts and special segments for MegaTV
Write, edit, and review news scripts with a focus on stories relevant to the Hispanic community in Miami and nationwide
Collaborate with producers, reporters, and editors on daily story planning and show structure
Conduct live studio and field interviews
Represent MegaTV at public events, press conferences, and community outreach initiatives
Participate in station promos, digital media content, and social media engagement as needed
Ensure all content meets journalistic standards and complies with company editorial policies
Stay current on local, national, and international news impacting the Latino audience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
2–5 years of on-air experience in television or digital broadcast, preferably in Spanish-language media
Native or near-native fluency in Spanish; strong working knowledge of English
Excellent verbal communication, voice control, and storytelling skills
Comfort with live broadcasts, teleprompters, and time-sensitive production
Familiarity with newsroom software such as ENPS or iNews
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strong awareness of Hispanic culture and current events, especially in the Miami market
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as a multimedia journalist or field reporter
Social media presence and familiarity with digital content production
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Work Environment
Studio-based position with occasional field reporting or public appearances
Fast-paced newsroom environment with daily live broadcasts
May require local travel and off-hours availability for special events or breaking news
