Overview
Direct Counsel is seeking a Senior Leasing Attorney to join a leading global law firm’s Real Estate Group. This role offers the chance to work on sophisticated leasing matters across a variety of property types, including office, retail, industrial, and life sciences. The position is available in multiple major U.S. markets.
Locations: Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Palo Alto, Reston, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington, DC
Responsibilities
Serve as lead attorney in drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements (transfer consents, SNDAs, lender subordination agreements, letters of intent, work letters, etc.)
Supervise junior leasing attorneys and provide guidance on complex matters
Interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, brokers, property managers, and other stakeholders
Deliver efficient, business-oriented solutions that align with clients’ objectives
Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction of the office applied for
Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial leasing and related agreements
Strong background in landlord representation across multiple property types
Excellent negotiating, drafting, and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues
Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines efficiently
Desired Skills
Deep understanding of commercial leasing markets and “market” terms for various lease structures
Experience with life sciences leases is a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $250,000 – $300,000 (depending on geographic market and qualifications)
