Land Acquisition Project Manager

at Intersect. Lead land acquisition for large-scale renewable energy projects, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to align acquisition with permitting, financing, and construction. Build strong relationships with landowners, community groups, and third-party land agents to move projects forward while fostering goodwill in the regions where we operate. What You’ll Do

Drive Land Acquisition Strategy

Lead site control campaigns across multiple projects, negotiating and managing leases, purchases, easements, and surface waivers Oversee third-party land agents to execute acquisition strategies effectively and on schedule Research mineral ownership and initiate surface waiver campaigns to clear title and development obstacles

Ensure Project Readiness

Resolve title and survey matters to support financing and construction Maintain land acquisition trackers and provide clear progress reporting across the organization Prepare and manage acquisition budgets, ensuring alignment with project needs

Build Stakeholder Relationships

Engage with landowners and community groups to foster trust and long-term relationships Work with Development and Permitting teams to align land acquisition with permitting timelines and constraints Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Legal and Finance to close site control agreements efficiently

Support Long-Term Growth

Provide ongoing expertise to the Head of Land and the broader Development team Influence counterparties to meet deadlines and project schedules Contribute to advancing land acquisition best practices for renewable energy development at scale

What You’ll Bring

A bachelor’s degree in real estate management, finance, economics, or a related field—or equivalent experience 5+ years of real estate development or acquisition experience, with at least 3 years closing renewable energy land transactions (fee acquisitions, option exercises, leases, etc.) Strong knowledge of standard land acquisition terms across multiple markets for solar and/or wind projects Experience with mineral rights research and acquisition of surface right waivers or related agreements Proven negotiation skills for complex real estate agreements Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to influence and move deals forward Independent, self-directed work style; able to succeed in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments Familiarity with land and environmental law, policy, and mineral interests Proficiency with Google Earth and GIS software Experience working with local, state, and federal agencies is a plus Willingness to travel up to 35% to project sites and stakeholder meetings Passion for renewable energy development and building lasting partnerships with landowners Total Rewards
