UX Designer — Chicago, IL
Reports To: Director, Product Development & Operations

We are seeking an experienced, creative UX Designer to collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to transform business goals and user needs into intuitive, effective, and visually appealing web and mobile solutions. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Figma or similar design tools and have a solid understanding of User-Centered Design (UCD) processes.
What You’ll Do
Perform user research and usability testing, facilitate user focus group sessions and interviews, and analyze user behavior analytics as may be required to understand user needs, uncover pain points, and inform user experience designs
Identify trends, validate design decisions, and improve user experiences
Transform research and data into responsive wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for both mobile and web while ensuring accessibility and responsiveness across different devices
Create user personas, storyboards, and journey maps
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to validate feasibility and alignment to deliver compelling, intuitive, effective, and visually appealing design solutions that achieve product requirements and business goals
Continuously monitor user behavior and activity to measure user interactions to continuously improve user experiences
Influence product teams through data-based recommendations
Stay current with the emerging design trends, tools, and best practices
Establish and promote design guidelines, practices, and standards
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction, or related field preferred
Proven UX design experience (3-5 years)
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility, responsive design, and information architecture concepts (e.g., site maps, taxonomies, and content organization)
Experience conducting user interviews, surveys, usability tests, and data analysis to inform design decisions and validate assumptions
Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
Portfolio of relevant UI/UX design work
Experience working with or building design systems and reusable component libraries.
Hands-on experience designing for accessibility standards
Experience with responsive design
Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, or Axure)
Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools a plus
Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, ability to initiate and drive projects with minimal oversight and guidance
Experience with e-learning/online learning a plus
Familiarity with financial services/banking industry a plus
Ability to work in the Chicago office periodically is required
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, job-related knowledge, and market considerations.
