Overview Nurse Manager

position with sign-on bonus. Exempt, full-time, permanent. Immediate clinical supervision by Associate Director of Nursing. Supervisory responsibilities include staff nurses, lead medical assistant, and medical assistants. Salary range: Band F ($91,500 - $108,000/year).

Your Role & Impact As part of Charles River Community Health (CRCH), a healthcare practice serving underserved communities, the Nurse Manager will help shape the future of primary care nursing. You will lead training, supervision, and support for a team of staff nurses and medical assistants, work with medical leadership to improve workflows for care coordination, roll out nurse education visits, and contribute to ongoing nursing development. The Nurse Manager will work with patients and staff who are racially, ethnically and culturally diverse, so cultural competence is required.

Your Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer, Associate Medical Director/Medical Director, and Associate Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing to ensure smooth patient flow and daily clinical operations at the sites.

Demonstrate clinical leadership and serve as a resource to staff.

Direct reports include RNs and MAs; direct care areas include primary care, lab, and satellite extensions.

Guide, mentor, and train new staff (RNs, MAs) and ensure ongoing clinical support and in-services to stay current.

Ensure the team is ready for audits and inspections.

Manage weekly schedule changes, staffing ratios, and coverage, adjusting as needed for sick calls or last-minute changes.

Maintain nursing/medical assistant guidelines by writing, evaluating, and updating policies and procedures.

Coordinate and enforce workflows, operational and personnel policies and procedures to maintain nursing operations.

Serve as Site Vaccine Manager, overseeing vaccine inventory tracking and vaccination rates.

Perform the role of Registered Nurse in addition to management responsibilities as needed; undertake direct and indirect patient care activities as appropriate.

Support staff development by completing annual evaluations and working with HR on performance improvement plans as needed.

Manage inventory and purchasing of medical supplies necessary for practice operations.

Ensure medical equipment maintenance and a safe environment, complying with applicable regulations and laws.

Collaborate on recruitment and retention of mission-driven staff with the Associate Director of Nursing.

Coordinate preceptorship for nursing students from area colleges and universities to develop future nursing leaders.

Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Perform other duties as required.

Your Qualifications, Competencies, Traits

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master’s preferred.

Licensed in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse with 3+ years of clinical experience in outpatient settings.

Leadership experience preferred, including evaluation, performance management, and training.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills.

Continual updating of clinical knowledge and skills; awareness of ambulatory practices and workflows.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with inter-professional colleagues; good decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork; professional judgment within licensure scope.

Experience with diverse cultures and underserved populations preferred; bilingual (Spanish/English or Portuguese/English) preferred.

Willingness to support training for students, internships, and preceptorships.

Experience with the Patient-Centered Medical Home model preferred.
