Operating in a dynamic and entrepreneurial setting, the in-office team is small yet exceptionally dedicated.
As the firm expands, we are seeking an accomplished and driven Director of Finance and Operations to join their organization. This pivotal position encompasses oversight of the company's financial, operational, administrative, and human resources functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate strategic acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to managing the daily execution of responsibilities across finance, HR, compliance, and operations. The Director of Finance and Operations will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities
Financial Own all financial operations including bookkeeping, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting Responsible for regular bookkeeping in QuickBooks, timely tax reporting/filing (in conjunction with outside accounting firm), and regulatory filings Manage the monthly financial statement close-out process for the company and its broker-dealer subsidiary Work with FINRA compliance officer to ensure accurate financial reporting for the firm’s broker-dealer subsidiary Administer accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking and approvals Coordinate client intake/setup, invoicing, and A/R collection Provide financial analyses and insights to support strategic decision-making Human Resources & Benefits Handle onboarding of new employees and vendors (contracts, verification forms, systems access & training, etc.) Handle all benefits administration (health, 401(k), including employee on/off-boarding, annual open enrollment, employee requests and questions) Coordinate with external insurance broker on annual renewals Payroll Administer monthly and one-off payroll runs including internal and regulatory reporting Manage annual payroll activities including W-2 distribution Handle annual and one-off employee deferral changes on an as-needed basis Insurance Oversee and maintain a complete understanding of all insurance policies, coverages, rates, and renewals Work with insurance broker to review and manage annual renewals for BaseRock Partners and subsidiary and make recommendations to the ownership group Complete annual workers’ compensation policy audit Operations Oversee all office management functions including all vendor relationships, supply procurement, and budgeting Help administer the company’s CRM and marketing platform (HubSpot) Lead or support ad hoc projects including process improvement, system implementations, or strategic initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness Act as a strategic advisor to the executive team, contributing to business planning and growth initiatives Qualifications
Bachelor\'s in Accounting CPA highly preferred Public accounting career foundation Knowledge of FINRA regulatory reporting highly preferred 2+ years of management experience Ability to work in a fast-pace environment Strong month-end close and financial statement preparation and analysis experience Polished communicator
