Overview
Director of Finance to join growing NYC team. the successful candidate will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing the administrative and financial operations of the firm. This person will report to the Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities
Outsourced Relationship Management Own and manage firm relationships with third-party administrators, clearing brokers, outside accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and accounting/ops software providers. Work daily with the traders, administrator, and clearing broker to record and reconcile all trades and portfolio accounting. Oversee and approve the fund’s monthly NAV. Oversee the fund’s audit and financial statement preparation. Financial and Tax Reporting Design and implement firm accounting policies and procedures. Manage books and records of the management company. Manage payroll and other key internal accounting functions. Maintain the company’s capitalization tables. Prepare and maintain internal budgeting and cash flow reports, with a focus on strategic budgeting and proactive cash management. Ensure tight reporting processes to maintain accuracy and consistency of financial data. Monitor expenses closely and implement disciplined expense management strategies. Regularly analyze budget performance and financial forecasts to make strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Liaise with outside tax advisors on tax statements and filings. Ensure all firm entities, tax reports, and payments are filed properly. Investor Reporting and Marketing Manage investor subscriptions and KYC. Address investor inquiries. Present to investors during due diligence. Other Work with Legal and Compliance and outsourced providers to complete regulatory filings. Construct and monitor systems and processes. Leverage technology with a demonstrated interest in improving efficiency—experience with scripting or task automation and enthusiasm for emerging tools such as AI and intelligent agents is highly valued. Drive key initiatives on the finance and operations side to help the business scale. Assist in fundraising by leading onsite due diligence from a financial perspective.
