Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital position focused on complex wound care, requiring BLS and NM licensure.
Responsibilities Work in a Level I Trauma, teaching, and children's acute care hospital Serve both inpatient and outpatient wound care needs, including complex trauma and surgical patients Partner closely with surgical teams for management of traumatic, surgical, and chronic wounds Typical shifts are 5x8 or 4x10 day shifts with no weekend or on-call requirements Responsibilities include debridement, advanced dressing selection, wound vac use, and complex wound management Cerner is used for charting and documentation; prior Cerner experience is not required No floating within facility or to sister hospitals required Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible Responsibilities include evaluation, care planning, discharge planning, assessment, reassessment, and pain management for complex wounds Utilize assistive devices, perform range of motion assessments, and address sensory and skin integrity needs Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including trauma, plastics, vascular, and orthopedics Ceil blue scrubs are required First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requests for more than 7 days of time off require prior approval and holiday bundles are limited No locals within a 75-mile radius of the facility will be considered Annual and onboarding training modules are required No preceptor pay for orientation shifts Free parking is available on site
Requirements Current NM Physical Therapy license required; pending license accepted at submission Current BLS certification required; RQI certifications not accepted Minimum 1-2 years of recent PT experience preferred Experience in wound care, including selective debridement and advanced dressing selection Documented full 7-year work history with explanation of any gaps Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required COVID vaccination required, with accepted medical or religious exemptions upon documentation Driver’s license or alternative transportation plan required License required if applicable
