Local to the Chicago area What You’ll Do
As a non-exempt/hourly employee at Burwood, the Sr. Hybrid Infrastructure Consultant will collaborate with a team of Burwood & client engineers, as well as client leadership, to ensure successful project outcomes and support the client’s internal initiatives. In this role, the Sr. Hybrid Infrastructure Consultant will have the following responsibilities: Project Contributions: Participate and contribute to complex technical projects Adhere to project plans, provide updates, and communicate issues effectively Function as an extension of the client’s infrastructure engineering team, as well as a trusted advisor representing Burwood Key Technical Skills: Windows Server Administration Active Directory GPO – Create/Edit/Test DHCP/DNS DFS Server Troubleshooting & Optimization VMware Administration ESXi/vSphere Management Host Configuration & Troubleshooting Storage Administration vSAN Windows Storage, including DFS SAN/NAS, General Storage Administration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting/Planning Assist in the architecture and solutioning of projects that include in-scope technologies General Requirements: Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends Experience working in highly regulated industries Prior experience working across multiple groups and departments to achieve shared goals Travel requirements: nice to have, not required for this role Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., VMware, Windows) is preferred Excellent presentation skills Who You Are: You have proven experience in contributing to and completing complex technical projects You have strong organizational and communication skills You have expertise in configuring and managing Windows servers, software migrations, understanding file permissions, and resolving server issues You can quickly adapt to unique challenges You are detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills You are comfortable interacting and presenting in front of customers You can build strong relationships and mentor colleagues You can manage your travel plans independently (including hotel, airfare, rental car, etc.) You are willing to frequently work nights and weekends to facilitate site cutovers You are flexible to support short-notice schedule changes and scheduling complexities The TECH Stuff: Manage virtualized server hosts; VMware vSphere/Hyper-V experience preferred Proficiency with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, DFS, and Active Directory Windows Server Administration Group Policy Objects (GPOs) & Administration Hyperconverged Storage, SAN – VxRail preferred Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution Experience with some or all of these technologies is a plus: Azure Virtual Machines, Azure networking, hybrid environments, Windows Server, and Azure Virtual Desktops System Setup and Support: Collaborate with the Hybrid Infrastructure/Cloud Infrastructure teams for cloud-based configurations, including Azure setups Provide Tier 2/3 level support for cloud infrastructure during HyperCare phases The PERKS: As a W2 contractor at Burwood, we offer the following benefits: 401(k) Health, dental, and vision insurance Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: We are not intent on being the largest company but the best.
