Project Geotechnical Engineer

to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and work on a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Boston, MA office.

Responsibilities

Split time and responsibilities between field assignments and office assignments.

Lead portions of technical project work from project scoping through final deliverables under the direction of senior staff.

Apply academic and industry knowledge, and learnings from prior work experience, to execute project work.

Provide training, guidance, and informal mentoring to junior staff on their projects and within your technical discipline.

Under the direction of the senior staff, participate in communications with clients, agencies, and internal teams within your discipline.

Perform or oversee geotechnical engineering technical evaluations, data summarization, and design.

Conduct basic construction observation, including quality control and field testing tasks.

Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation.

Perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.

Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.

Skills / Experience

Minimum: Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.

4+ years of relevant experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient at writing technical reports to meet project requirements.

Able to work independently on tasks supporting technical work and manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.

Desire to learn and grow, with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or relevant geotechnical analysis software.

Preferred Skills

Professional certification or plan to obtain professional certification, as applicable to the discipline.

OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.

Specialized software applications relevant to geotechnical engineering.
