aircraft . They need someone who can execute envelope expansion tests, perform hazard and risk analysis, analyze telemetry and flight data, and work closely with engineering and flight ops teams. Base pay range
$130,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr Qualifications
Education : Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in
Mechanical, Aerospace,
or Mechatronics Engineering. Experience : Minimum of
5+ years in flight testing
new and novel aircraft designs, with proven experience leading projects from start to finish. Technical Expertise : Strong understanding of
envelope expansion testing, flight test hazard and risk analysis, telemetry methods, and flight test data analysis. Software Skills : Proficient with solid-modeling CAD software (preferably CATIA) and 2D documentation. Communication : Ability to write clear and concise technical flight testing documents and strong interpersonal skills. Travel : Willingness to travel to local test sites for flight test support. Preferred :
SETP recognized test pilot school training, experience with aircraft certification flight testing, FAA pilot certificates, familiarity with electric propulsion systems, and programming skills (Matlab/Python). Responsibilities
Lead Flight Testing : Plan, coordinate, and execute flight test activities for UAS and crewed eVTOL aircraft, ensuring validation of performance, handling qualities, and safety. Develop Test Plans : Create detailed test plans and procedures. Data Analysis : Analyze test results to ensure accurate data capture and reporting. Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with engineering, flight operations, and certification teams to align testing with program milestones and regulatory requirements. Technical Expertise : Become a flight test leader and subject matter expert in eVTOL aircraft, understanding their design, test, operation, and maintenance. Troubleshooting & Improvement : Analyze aircraft electronics for operational and reliability issues, perform repairs and upgrades, and suggest design and process improvements. Documentation : Compile and document findings, test results, and any quality or safety concerns. Fleet Readiness : Ensure the aircraft fleet remains flight-ready. Safety Focus : Maintain a strong focus on safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
