Primary Purpose Manage (indirect) Distribution and Transmission & Substation professionals who manage the construction of centrally managed projects. Manage the construction process to effectively meet scope of work, schedule of work and budget dollars. Implement Standards of Practice for Construction and Program Management and monitor quality of construction. Maintain an environment that promotes safety, diversity, and high productivity by taking corrective actions as required. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. Primary Duties Responsible for project construction, ensuring all work is performed to standard, within budget, on schedule, and by assessing risk to minimize adverse conditions affecting projects. Serve as a liaison with property owners and customers impacted by construction activities, fostering clear communication and strong relationships. Address customer concerns promptly to maintain positive connections with all stakeholders. Manage the tasks performed by internal and external construction resources to maximize productivity, safety, quality, diversity, and cost savings. Monitor performance and evaluate capabilities. Participate in detailed peer review of engineering design drawings to proactively resolve constructability issues, engineering design, field barriers and delays to adherence to schedules. Act as primary communicator between Project Management and work groups essential for executing project schedule, controlling project scope, managing dollars, clearance orders and onsite materials management. Lead job site walk downs and meetings with engineering, construction and contract management personnel. Monitor project safety and perform weekly safety observations, verify job briefings and safety tailgates. Assist on Root Cause Investigations or operating incident reviews as requested. Review contractor quality assurance and verify compliance through audits, inspections or surveillances. Participate in condition reports immediately following any incidents on the project, ensuring comprehensive documentation and analysis. Coach Construction Management staff augmentation members to foster safety and accountability in project delivery. Complete all required training. Participate in staff and project meetings and provide updates in project management systems. Engage with external and internal stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address challenges. Lead safety briefings and stakeholder site visits to ensure all participants understand established protocols. Job Scope Manage project construction spend for projects across several construction categories impacting Transmission and Distribution facilities. This is an individual contributor role that interacts with internal and external contacts to manage the construction process, meet scope, schedule, and budget, implement standards of practice, and monitor quality. Internal and external contacts include senior management, managers, employees, and customers. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4-7 years of Transmission and/or Distribution construction experience OR high school diploma and 6-9 years' related experience. Knowledge of project management concepts or principles. Strong knowledge of company and OSHA safety guidelines and regulations. Project management experience. Good written and oral communication skills. Proven analytical experience. Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively, and foster culture change. Demonstrated business acumen and customer awareness; ability to create value. Certifications required within first year include Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) and OSHA 30. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of bargaining unit agreements as they impact construction and the workforce. Hands-on field experience supporting Transmission & Substation activities, including safety protocols and coordination with field crews. Experience in Distribution Operations such as troubleshooting, maintenance, or restoration work. Experience administering large-dollar construction maintenance projects with adherence to schedules and regulatory/contractual compliance. Demonstrated leadership, including supervisory experience, with a commitment to safety and performance.
