Primary Purpose: Manage (indirect) Distribution and Transmission & Substation professionals who manage the construction of centrally managed projects. Manage the construction process to meet scope, schedule and budget. Implement Standards of Practice for Construction and Program Management and monitor construction quality. Promote safety, diversity, and high productivity, taking corrective actions as required. Position may require extended hours for storms or energy delivery emergencies. Primary Duties
Responsible for project construction, ensuring work is performed to standard within budget and on schedule. Assess risk to minimize adverse conditions and participate in job walks. Serve as liaison with property owners and customers impacted by construction activities, fostering clear communication and positive relationships. Manage tasks performed by internal and external construction resources to maximize productivity, safety, quality, diversity, and cost savings. Monitor performance, evaluate capabilities, and participate in peer reviews of engineering design drawings to resolve constructability issues and schedule adherence. Act as primary communicator between Project Management and work groups essential for executing project schedule, controlling scope and budget, and managing onsite materials. Lead job site walk downs and meetings with engineering, construction, and contract management personnel. Monitor project safety, perform weekly safety observations, verify briefings and tailgates. Assist on root cause investigations and operating incident reviews as requested. Review contractor quality assurance and verify compliance through audits and inspections. Document incidents and support safety culture and task completion. Complete required training and participate in staff and project meetings with timely updates. Engage with external and internal stakeholders to provide progress updates and address challenges. Lead safety briefings and stakeholder site visits, communicating work processes and procedures. Manage project construction spend for Transmission and Distribution facilities. Individual contributor role interacting with senior management, managers, employees, and customers to ensure scope, schedule, and budget are met while implementing Standards of Practice and monitoring construction quality. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4-7 years of Transmission and/or Distribution construction experience OR high school diploma with 6-9 years of related experience. Knowledge of Project Management concepts or principles. Strong knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines and regulations. Project Management experience. Good written and oral communication skills. Proven analytical experience. Ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively, and foster culture change. Demonstrated business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value. Certifications required within first year include LOTO and OSHA 30. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Bargaining Unit Agreements and their impact on construction workforce. Prior hands-on field experience supporting Transmission & Substation activities, safety protocols, field coordination, and construction processes. Experience in Distribution Operations (Dist. Ops) such as troubleshooting, maintenance, or restoration work is highly preferred. Experience administering large-dollar construction maintenance projects with adherence to schedules and regulatory/contractual compliance. Demonstrated leadership, including supervisory experience, with a focus on safety and performance. Benefits
Annual salary: $88,000.00/Yr – $121,000.00/Yr (varies by skills and qualifications). Annual bonus for eligible positions: 15%. 401(k) match and annual company contribution.
