Overview Primary Purpose:
Provide support to district and campus level staff regarding student programs such as SPED, Section 504, McKinney Vento and other federal or state programs as applicable. This position will act as the District Testing Coordinator (OTC) and will provide intervention and accountability support to campuses and district staff.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Master\'s Degree preferred
Preferred Leadership, or other relevant experience
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of federal programs and grants. Strong leadership and collaboration skills; Exceptional ability to analyze data and problem solve; Knowledge of the effective use of technology; Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience; Minimum 3 years of instructional leadership or administrative experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Assessment:
Act as District Testing Coordinator, facilitating all administrations of STAAR; Provide training and support to campus testing coordinators; Upload STAAR & TELPAS Data into Ascender, Eduphoria, Panorama, and other programs; Work collaboratively with the Special Education Director and campus administrators to ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations on all assessments; Ensure all test results are communicated to appropriate stakeholders.
Accountability:
Maintain updated knowledge of the latest state and federal accountability; Provide guidance on district and campus accountability ratings; Assist campus administrators in planning for and implementing accountability goals; Disaggregate and present the TAPR report annually; Provide guidance for Results Driven Accountability at the district and campus level; continually update all required documentation.
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS):
Work cooperatively with district and campus leadership implementing a vertically aligned MTSS plan and process; Assist with implementation of student intervention and accelerated instruction as needed across the district.
Student Program Support:
Act as McKinney Vento Liaison for the district, oversee program initiatives, assist with planning and grants; Support Foster services at all district campuses, act as point of contact; Assist with family engagement events for all federal programs and student needs; District point of contact for related programs; Maintains records and supports campus needs related to student services; Attends Truancy Court as the district administrative contact; District YMCA Liaison (Friday Care and Afterschool Care); Support Bilingual, GT and Coordinator of CTE.
Teacher Incentive Allotment:
Assist with the collection, analysis, and reporting of teacher performance and student growth data.
Professional Development:
Participate in district level professional development meetings and assist in the coordination of district level professional development offerings; Facilitate learning opportunities related to accountability, testing, or other federal programs; Continue professional growth and strengthen professional knowledge.
Executive leadership:
Serve as an executive-level partner to the Superintendent analyzing, interpreting, and providing recommendations concerning district issues; Assist the Superintendent in ensuring Board has background information to make decisions; Serve as a key member of the Superintendent\'s leadership team coordinating agendas and ensuring follow-up actions; Assist with legislative priorities; Provide oversight and leadership for instruction by establishing positive relationships with campus and district employees; Involvement with short and long-range strategic plans to ensure academic success.
Federal Programs:
Oversee federal grants for the district (ESSA, etc.); Assist with grant planning at the district and campus level; Maintain appropriate documentation for all federal programs; Complete all compliance and reporting tied to federal programs.
Organizational Leadership:
Provide leadership and direction to departments under Student Services to ensure student success; Analyze critical needs and collaborate to design, implement, refine, and evaluate assigned programs; Help organize and facilitate district level leadership endeavors and strategic planning; Facilitate district level committees as assigned.
Professional Responsibilities:
Encourage lifelong learning; Establish rapport with faculty and staff; Promote productive relationships; Attend required meetings and uphold policies; Protect students and property; Interpret school\'s student support programs for staff and stakeholders.
