Director, Information Technology Operations – Freight Forwarding
Salary: $125,000 – $140,000 (based on experience and seniority) A global freight forwarder delivering international air, ocean, and domestic logistics solutions is seeking a Director of IT Operations. With established networks across North America and Asia, the business combines strong carrier relationships with advanced technology to provide scalable, customer-focused supply chain solutions. Role Overview
The Director of IT Operations will oversee the design, implementation, and management of the company’s global IT infrastructure. This includes optimizing CargoWise, driving systems integration, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring data security across multiple regions. Key Responsibilities
Lead IT operations across global offices, ensuring system reliability, security, and scalability Administer and optimize CargoWise, including configuration and integration with carrier and customer systems Manage and maintain EDI connections with global partners, ensuring accuracy and compliance Oversee IT onboarding, systems access, and hardware/software provisioning for new hires Collaborate with international teams, particularly in China, to align workflows and enhance integration (experience with Feishu/Lark is a strong advantage) Drive implementation of new technologies to improve automation, productivity, and data protection Manage vendor contracts, licensing, and IT budget allocations Act as escalation point for complex IT issues and ensure swift resolution Qualifications
5+ years in IT leadership or IT operations, ideally in a global environment Proven experience with CargoWise (mandatory) and strong knowledge of EDI integrations Familiarity with Chinese platforms such as Feishu/Lark preferred Strong background in IT Service Management, data compliance, and network security Track record of scaling IT infrastructure in a fast-growth, international company Logistics industry experience is a plus Why Join
