With more than 10,000 employees and annual revenues exceeding $5 billion, the company has established itself as a leader in numerous markets whilst maintaining a strong culture of integrity, safety, innovation, and collaboration. The COO will oversee day-to-day operations across a broad portfolio of regional businesses, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and sustainable growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will play a pivotal role in shaping corporate strategy, strengthening organizational culture, and delivering on shareholder and stakeholder commitments. Key Responsibilities
Lead operational strategy, P&L, and performance management across multiple operating companies. Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and inclusion across a diverse workforce. Develop and execute long-term business and financial plans aligned with board-approved strategy. Partner closely with regional leadership to foster autonomy while ensuring consistency of standards and results. Support acquisitions, strategic investments, and innovation initiatives. Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and board, ensuring transparency, risk management, and compliance. Travel extensively (50%+) to maintain a strong presence across the organization. Candidate Profile
10+ years in a senior executive role within a large, full-service construction company (>$2B revenue). Experience in publicly traded environments (SEC/SOX) with direct board interaction is highly desirable. Proven track record overseeing multiple business units and driving profitable growth. Deep knowledge of construction operations, major projects, risk management and safety innovations that enable the business to thrive as they grow. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Recognized servant leader with high integrity, strong financial acumen, and the ability to inspire teams. A home base in Texas or the willingness to relocate (with assistance).
