Arcwood Environmental is seeking a strategic Director of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) to institutionalize, own and drive the integrated business planning process for the enterprise. This role leads forecasting, demand planning, and network optimization to influence financial results. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the IBP Director ensures cost-effective short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts while maintaining reliable customer service. The role collaborates with Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Logistics to develop and refine business plans that optimize volume and mix and balance the network in steady state and offline asset conditions. The subject matter expert in demand planning, capacity management, and revenue forecasting will drive monthly demand plans, consumption modeling, network strategy optimization, and business integration, and will facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The role also leads embedding AI, Generative AI and market/competitive intelligence tools to improve forecasting accuracy through planning software and advanced data analysis. Essential Functions
Integrated Business Planning Leadership & Execution: Leads the enterprise-wide IBP process, integrating demand planning, supply chain management, financial forecasting, and operational execution to drive strategic alignment. Monthly IBP reviews: Facilitates cross-functional leadership meetings to balance demand, supply, and financial trade-offs for optimized performance. Forecasting tools & metrics: Develops and maintains forecasting models, dashboards, and scenario-based planning tools; establishes IBP performance metrics and continuously refines processes for forecast accuracy and operational efficiency. Digital tools & analytics: Leverages digital tools and advanced analytics to enhance IBP, incorporating market conditions, customer demand, inventory levels, and planned outages. Market Intelligence & Demand Forecasting: Monitors industry trends, customer behaviors, regulatory shifts, and competitor activity to inform planning assumptions and strategic decisions. Collaboration with Commercial & Strategy: Works with Commercial and Strategy teams to assess market developments and their impact on volume, service mix, pricing, and profitability. Statistical models & inventory management: Develops and refines models to optimize inventory, mitigate disruptions, and maintain high service levels; maintains rolling 18-month forecasts with timely data uploads. Demand & Capacity Planning: Develops short- and long-range forecasts balancing customer demand with operational capacity and financial targets. Production & staffing alignment: Identifies variances and aligns production, routing, and staffing to optimize service delivery and asset utilization. Risk management: Proactively manages risks to profitability, scalability, and efficiency through early detection of imbalances. Communication: Communicates forecast or capacity changes to Scheduling and Operations for proactive adjustments; coordinates information flow with internal teams and third-party providers. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Executive Engagement: Partners with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Strategy to ensure end-to-end alignment of demand signals, service capabilities, and budget assumptions; supports executive decision-making with business plan summaries and insights. Strategic input: Provides input into capital investment planning, pricing strategies, and growth modeling to enhance profitability and scalability; collaborates with COO, CCO, and CFO on related planning areas. Network Optimization, Cost & Mix Management: Manages waste allocation and leads network optimization to reduce costs and improve reliability; negotiates third-party disposal agreements in collaboration with Procurement; develops capacity models to inform pricing and bottleneck resolution. Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Develops KPIs and dashboards to measure IBP effectiveness; uses scenario modeling and capacity planning tools to inform decisions; identifies gaps and drives continuous improvement; supports EBITDA growth through mix optimization. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or logistics (required) Master’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, finance or related field (preferred) 10+ years of experience in IBP, supply chain, or business operations with exposure to waste, logistics, or industrial services (required) Proven success leading enterprise-wide IBP processes with financial accountability and executive-level influence (required) Experience leading and facilitating executive IBP meetings (required) Benefits & Diversity
