Supply Chain Manager, Fastener & Joining Technologies role at Tesla. This role supports development of new programs through direct sourcing of Fastener and Joining Technologies and manages a dynamic supply chain. Responsibilities include parts related to one of Tesla Vehicles, Tesla Energy, Batteries and humanoid robotics. The role reports to the Supply Chain Group Manager and acts as an active sourcing resource supporting various Engineering groups within Tesla. What You'll Do
Owner of RFQ's and contract management - ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated, agreed and appropriately documented before business is initiated Drive piece price and tooling negotiation process to ensure Tesla’s commodity pricing meets Best-In-Class expectations, while meeting Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality; lead continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad-hoc price negotiations Address all areas of Fastener Supply Chain Management including commodity strategy, market condition assessment, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies Monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with Design teams to identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges Manage supplier relationships and performance, including dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews Participate in Design for Manufacturability reviews with Fasteners Engineering, Design Engineering, Supplier Industrialization Engineering, and prospective suppliers to drive cost-oriented decisions Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications; basic knowledge of manufacturing process controls and quality assurance for the commodity space What You'll Bring
Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Chemistry, evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience in a direct procurement or similar role Experience and understanding of an overall sourcing process including RFI, RFQ, PO, and cost savings Experience with mechanical engineering concepts related to the Fasteners commodity and ability to generate bottom-up should-costs based on the understanding of manufacturing process Technical and commercial understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes on metal and plastic forming Ability to quickly adapt to a fast-paced working environment Ability to travel up to 25% of the time Benefits and Compensation
Compensation Expected Compensation: $101,280 - $189,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay details Pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include other elements. Details will be provided if an offer is extended.
