Red Feather Industries LCA (RFI) manufacturers high-quality, wood-based modular housing to address Colorado’s affordable and attainable housing needs. We build a limited number of single and multi-family designs with a wide range of applications, increasing factory efficiencies to lower cost and reach the most underserved parts of the market. As an employee-owned worker cooperative, all of our members have a voting voice and real ownership in the company’s success. We are incentivized to continually improve process and product, driving up profits that are shared by the members and stay within the local economy. Most importantly, RFI is a mission driven venture that is prioritizing sustainable growth to create long term jobs that have a positive impact on our community. We are looking for a Director of Business Development to join our team of founders and help drive our mission forward by selling housing projects to fill our production line, forging strategic partnerships, and identifying new growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership: Drive the sales pipeline, manage key client relationships, and lead contract negotiations for modular home projects. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a business development strategy that aligns with our mission to make sustainable, affordable housing more accessible. Partnership Development: Build and nurture relationships with key partners such as construction companies, real estate developers, builders, government agencies, and suppliers. Product Collaboration: Work closely with our product and engineering teams to ensure our modular homes meet the specific needs of our target markets, from design to logistics. Industry Advocacy: Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events to raise our brand awareness and establish our place in the modular housing industry. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the leadership team on forecasting, budgeting, and ensuring alignment between business development and operational goals. Qualifications
Experience: 7+ years of experience preferred in business development, sales, or partnerships, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in the construction, real estate, or manufacturing sectors is strongly preferred. Candidates with less experience will be considered with demonstrated drive and passion, salary adjusted accordingly. Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in driving significant revenue growth and closing high-value deals, especially in the B2B space. Relationship Building: A natural networker with a talent for building long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders in government, real estate, and development sectors. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with offsite building and prefabrication, sustainable construction, or affordable housing markets is a major plus. Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a team, set strategic goals, and inspire others to execute. Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to navigate the complexities of a fast-growing startup environment. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus. Why Join Us?
