The Business Development Manager (Litigation) is responsible for developing, leading, and implementing marketing and business development activities for our nationally recognized practice. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position. The Business Development Manager (BDM) works with key attorneys in the firm’s 280-attorney Litigation Department to expand existing client relationships, generate new prospecting opportunities, and drive profitable revenue growth. The BDM will focus on client development initiatives related to complex commercial disputes, construction and real estate litigation, government investigations and white-collar defense, intellectual property, labor and employment, and privacy and technology. Supervise and mentor Business Development Specialist(s) assigned to support practice group and teams. Develop strategic plans to drive the business development and marketing goals with practice group leaders and the marketing team. Incorporate in-depth knowledge of relevant industries into firmwide business strategies, anticipating client needs and trends and developing responsive solutions. Develop strong, responsive relationships with practice group and team leaders to gain consensus on and direct strategies. Ensure marketing plans integrate with and support firmwide strategies. Identify speaking and sponsorship opportunities and target appropriate membership opportunities to create visibility and advance new business goals. Work with lateral hiring managers to ensure that new lateral partner hires are effectively integrated and their expertise is communicated to clients, attorneys, and business communities. Draft responses and provide strategic direction for legal directories and promotional opportunities to increase awareness of select practice groups. Provide thought leadership through direct mail and email, including client alerts and social media. Develop effective marketing materials to ensure attorney bios and practice group descriptions reflect a consistent image and align with strategy. Produce client development seminars, firm-sponsored events, conferences, and trade shows from concept through execution, including attendee identification, locations, material development, production, and lead follow-up. Collaborate with Strategic Pursuits and Competitive Intelligence teams to conduct market research and gather intelligence on industries, trade associations, clients, and prospects. Prepare tailored promotional letters, pitches, presentations, and proposals; support timely responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs. Develop and maintain collateral materials, including case experience lists and website content. Plan, attend, and participate in practice group, team, and industry initiative meetings with leaders. Develop and mentor budgets; work with Communications and Design teams on written communications, press releases, and media content. Collaborate with team members to create content for the website, firm collateral, and internal communications. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

5-8 years of marketing or business development experience with at least 3 years in a management role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment. Bachelor’s Degree required. Work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Excellent attention to detail, organization, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated ability to safeguard confidential information. Remain highly informed of relevant industry trends and business practices to develop targeted programs and recommendations. Expand knowledge on opportunities relevant to clients and potential clients that could promote business development and marketing strategies. Creative with the ability to bring new ideas to the team. Results-oriented team player with the ability to develop deep knowledge of business sources and resources. Proven ability to strategize, plan, and execute events and webinars. Strong leadership and client service skills. Ability to manage heavy workload, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Salary & Benefits

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows: Boston, MA: $118,000 to $174,900 Chicago, IL: $118,000 to $174,900 Los Angeles, CA: $118,000 to $174,900 Melville, NY: $129,500 to $192,500 New York, NY: $129,500 to $192,500 San Francisco, CA: $129,500 to $192,500 Washington, DC: $118,000 to $174,900 Additional contingent compensation may be offered based on performance, location, and qualifications; the salary range is Nixon Peabody’s good faith estimate at posting time.
