GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is at our
Gynecologic Oncology Clinic at Porter, CO . Salary Range $149,563 - $164,194 Provides education and support for patients and staff involved in the care of patients. Demonstrates a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach in directing efforts toward the attainment of desired patient outcomes in a cost-effective manner in the area of specialty. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values. Expedite and coordinate patient evaluation and care. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
75% inpatient rounding/OR support (surgical assist certified strongly preferred) / 25% clinic support (postop eval and pre-chemo toxicity and clearance) Perform triage of patients on the floor, in ER, or calling from home and help to coordinate appropriate response and attending/on-call physician involvement Prescribes pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacological therapies according to standard protocol Provide symptom management for side effects related to oncologic treatment and surgery Provides consultation to nursing, medical, case management and ancillary departments as requested for inpatients and outpatients Optimizes preop workflows and ensures patients prepared for surgery Coordinates with attending physicians to communicate results to patients (radiographic, laboratory, and pathologic) in a timely manner as well as coordinating requisite follow up as needed ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluates and analyzes patient progress and response to disease and treatment, initiates the therapeutic intervention, and determines clinical effectiveness of treatment plan, and alters the plan if necessary Educates patients and their families regarding examination findings, abnormal laboratory results, treatment plan, and appropriate follow-up and implications for health and recovery Develops/implements/evaluates appropriate materials to facilitate the education of patients/families Provides daily informal education to other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes Provides formal education to staff at least quarterly in varying formats Develops, coordinates & participates in community education programs Defines, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of oncology programs in conjunction with participating physicians and staff Assists physicians/NPs in developing and revising clinical practice guidelines Collects and analyzes data regarding treatment process, patient outcome, cost and patient assessment of the quality of care Determines eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials based on findings Presents outcomes to staff, physicians, and administration in varying formats Incorporates current standard of care and evidence-based guidelines into daily practice Represents clinical nurse leadership on departments and/or hospital committees/projects in area of specialty EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Master’s degree in nursing as a Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program; must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing Master’s Degree (Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program) Certification by N.C.P.P.A Experience in Gynecologic Oncology preferred LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED
APN - Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for and listed on state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or subspecialty RXN / RXN-P - Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for the role with an articulated plan
