Bender Companies is looking for an experienced

Senior Property Accountant

to join our growing accounting team. We are looking for someone who has at least three years of work experience in accounting and preferably someone that has worked in the Real Estate industry. CPA is a plus. Compensation

Compensation:

As a

Senior Property Accountant

you will be responsible for a subset of the company’s portfolio of assets. Completing bank reconciliations, approving bills, posting journal entries, preparing financial statements, monitor corporate accounts and more. Core responsibilities

Preparation of journal entries, including posting reclassifications, with appropriate supporting back-up documentation. Review, approve, and pay vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare journal entries, including reclassifications, with proper supporting documentation. Perform monthly reviews of income statements to ensure accurate coding of income and expenses; reclassify any miscoded transactions and provide variance explanations as needed. Complete monthly bank reconciliations for both property and corporate accounts, including company credit cards, ensuring timely resolution of all reconciling items in the following accounting period. Reconcile and review escrow accounts for real estate taxes, insurance, and other reserves on a monthly basis. Review financial statement packages to ensure internal consistency across all system-generated schedules; document and explain any reconciling differences (e.g., security deposits, aged A/R). Analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and related forecasts. Assist in preparing monthly investor reports, including variance analysis, property updates, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Maintain detailed supporting workpapers for all balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable, prepaid revenues and expenses, accruals, and mortgage escrow balances. Support accounting for property acquisitions and dispositions by reviewing transaction documents and preparing related GAAP-compliant journal entries. Collaborate with the Bender acquisitions team on financial due diligence activities. Assist asset management with the preparation and submission of reserve replacement draw requests to lenders. Communicate financial information and respond to requests from third-party owners, auditors, lenders, and internal stakeholders. Support property managers in resolving tenant billing disputes. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to company-wide projects and special initiatives. Where you will work
