Tax Director – Future Partner. Great Falls, VA. 100% onsite. Base Salary: $150,000–$200,000 + Bonus Potential. Lead the preparation and review of tax returns and manage a pre-established book of private clients. What makes this role unique
Partner-Track Succession: Inherit a retiring partner’s book of private clients, trusts, and small businesses. True Work-Life Balance: Overtime outside of tax season is rare. First 80 OT hours can convert to vacation — up to 5 weeks PTO possible. Collaborative, Tight-Knit Culture: Stable leadership, strong mentorship, and team camaraderie. Lead the preparation and review of 1040, 1041, 1065, and 1120S returns Manage and grow a pre-established book of private clients Oversee and develop junior staff Partner with firm leadership on strategic initiatives and succession planning Use CCH Axcess and QuickBooks for tax prep and workflow Ideal background
CPA required 10–20 years of public accounting or family office tax experience Strong expertise in 1040s; trust & estate experience (1041) is helpful but not required Comfortable managing client relationships and leading a team Must be currently local or already commuting distance to Great Falls — this is a 100% onsite role Who thrives here
