Overview
Medical Science Liaison, Neuropsychiatry - Phoenix, AZ Location: Phoenix, AZ. The MSL role embodies the medical mission to drive scientific exchange, enhance medical education, data generation, insight generation and patient access to medicine. The MSL identifies disease and product related medical needs in a defined geography and develops/maintains relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) to engage in meaningful scientific exchange aligned with medical strategies and needs. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research TLs, HCPs and access stakeholders within a defined geography. Present scientific information accurately and compliantly; respond to questions and address requests related to medical information and HEOR. Assess the medical landscape, understand treatment strategies, clinical trials, HEOR concepts and evolving healthcare models; identify opportunities for disease state initiatives and investigator-sponsored research (ISR). Partner with HCPs on disease state initiatives and research projects; attend medical congresses and regional meetings to gather and share insights with medical and commercial teams. Contribute to the Medical Plan, develop geography-specific Field Medical and TL Interaction plans, and support cross-functional institution/account planning. Provide medical support to internal stakeholders (Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Legal, HEOR, Value, Access & Payment) and support promotional meetings with scientific data. Support clinical trial activities, including ISR submissions, site feasibility input, and safety communications in collaboration with GDO and home office medical. Ensure Pharmacovigilance procedures are understood and followed by investigators; support CRO-sponsored studies as defined by the study scope. Travel within the territory; live within or near the territory borders as assigned and drive a company-provided vehicle as required. Qualifications
Advanced degree in medical/biosciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD, etc.) with 3–5 years of MSL or clinical practice experience. Current MSL or clinical practice experience in psychiatry, mental health or schizophrenia with proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with external experts. Knowledge of disease areas, scientific publications, clinical trial design, HEOR concepts and national healthcare/access environments. Excellent written and spoken English; strong communication and presentation skills; ability to translate scientific data for healthcare professionals. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team; develop peer-to-peer relationships with TLs, scientists and HCPs; quickly learn new subject areas. Essential: ability to drive a company-provided car and meet travel requirements; high ethics, integrity and a safe driving history. Travel readiness: field-based role requiring residence within or near the assigned territory and significant time in the field with external customers.
