Overview
Location: 85 PALMETTO STREET - BROOKLYN, NY Schedule: Part Time Compensation: $20.12 Hourly Organization: RiseBoro Community Partnership Industry: Nonprofit - Social Services Summary: Administrative/clerical support at the center under the supervision of the Director, assisting with program operations, member/guest interaction, and home-delivery meal services. Responsibilities
Interact with center members and guests; support all programming at the center and assist with home delivery meal services Answer telephones and assist with calls Recruit, supervise and coordinate activities of volunteer workers, interns, Easter Seals workers and vocational rehab workers as needed Perform general duties such as photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing Record and manage daily contributions, fundraising activities, and petty cash Support the Director in counting fundraising receipts and deposits Coordinate special programs and events Assist with flyers, newsletters, bulletin boards, etc. Conduct client registration and create new membership ID cards Assist with fundraising activities, including receipts and spreadsheets Assist with documentation and data entry into the program database Collect and record daily attendance and congregate meals; maintain database Maintain monthly recreational log Maintain documentation of fundraising receipts and expenses Assist with Information & Referral Oversee recreational trips Other duties as required by the Director and organization Competencies
Spanish speaking skills required Knowledge of and concern for the physical, mental and emotional needs of older persons Computer skills with ability to learn database maintenance Ability to read, write, and speak English Ability to work independently Commitment to the organization's mission, vision and values Understanding of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved communities Commitment to supporting communities affected by systemic oppression and bias (e.g., people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.) Education & Experience
High School graduate or equivalent, and specialized training or skills in recreational activities or two years experience in a community, group work or teacher environment Qualifications
