Field Applications Scientist - Plate Reader
Molecular Devices, a Danaher operating company, offers a role focused on demonstrating plate reader instruments and SoftMax Pro software, providing technical presentations, and delivering customer trainings and troubleshooting in collaboration with the Sales team. This position is home-office based in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and will be fully remote in the San Francisco, CA area. Responsibilities
Carry out demonstrations of Molecular Devices’ plate reader instruments and SoftMax Pro software. Deliver technical presentations to customers. Provide customer trainings and troubleshooting as requested by the Sales team and management. Provide scientific, technical, and applications support during pre- and post-sales activities. Schedule and manage instrument and software demonstrations, instrument installations, and customer trainings as required. Assist the sales team by identifying customer needs, demonstrating product solutions, aiding in assay development, data generation, report preparation, and presenting results. Promote customer satisfaction by providing product and application information, answering inquiries, investigating complaints, and acting as a voice of the customer. Develop customer relationships to facilitate technical materials, seminars, scientific meetings, and other publications. Essential requirements
A Master’s degree in Biological Sciences with 2 years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company. Minimum 4 years of direct hands-on experience with microplate reader-based assays. Home office-based; candidate must be located in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Exceptional analytical, organizational, time management, communications, and presentation skills for pre- & post-sales support, in collaboration with the North America field-based sales team and internal customer support teams. Travel and physical requirements
Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight travel as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 45 lb. Preferred qualifications
Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or equivalent. Experience with SpectraMax plate readers, SoftMax Pro software or similar platforms, particularly in GLP/GMP and Regulated Laboratory environments. Prior Field Applications Scientist experience. Benefits and additional information

The salary range is $85,000.00 USD – $110,000.00 USD, with eligibility for bonus/incentive pay.
