Overview
Executive Medical Science Liaison, AIR US - Southeast role at Chiesi USA, Inc. Ops note: This position focuses on building key opinion leader partnerships and scientific engagements in the Respiratory (COPD/Asthma) therapeutic area within the Southeast US. Candidates should live in/near Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Birmingham, or Atlanta; other cities in the Southeastern US may be considered. Responsibilities
Scientific Exchange, advice seeking and clinical development support: build external partnerships with KOLs, identify and develop thought leaders for medical education, advisory boards, investigator-initiated research and speaker development; provide medical support and education to HCPs; foster relationships with key institutions; facilitate cross-functional engagement; support real world evidence needs; represent Chiesi USA Medical Affairs at meetings; provide field-based medical affairs assistance for company-supported clinical research. Initiated trials or collaborative initiatives: deliver high-caliber medical education presentations; gather competitive intelligence; participate in therapeutic advisory groups; plan with regional partners to optimize customer experience. Therapeutic Support, Internal Collaboration and Project Work: lead and support internal medical projects; contribute to publication planning, medical education material development and internal training; participate in monthly medical meetings; mentor new team members. Administrative Work: accurately document field activities, expenses and administrative reports; complete required training on time; maintain high level of therapeutic area expertise and professional credentials. Experience Required
Post-graduate residency training with 7-10 years of MSL experience relevant to Respiratory (exception for PhD candidates with requisite experience); prior launch experience in Asthma/COPD strongly preferred. Strong relationship-building skills to identify opportunities and partnerships; effective collaboration in diverse, multi-disciplinary teams; strong planning, prioritization and execution in dynamic environments. Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey complex scientific ideas; tactful diplomacy with KOLs and HCPs. Active listening, thoughtful questioning, and ability to challenge opinions while staying evidence-based; professional communications with internal and external stakeholders. Thorough knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and hospital credentialing processes (credentialing includes drug testing, including marijuana). Education
Completion of a graduate-level degree (PharmD, MD, DO, DNP, PhD, MSN, MS or equivalent healthcare professional degree) with relevant clinical experience. Compensation and Benefits
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $180,000 to $230,000. Overtime pay may apply for non-exempt employees. Base pay offered may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and performance. We are an at-will employer and reserves the right to modify compensation. What We Offer
