We’re seeking a Production Director—a seasoned construction leader who thrives on planning, people, and precision. If you’re passionate about quality, timelines, and team success, keep reading. Your Mission You’ll oversee the entire production process, from preconstruction planning to on-site execution. You’ll ensure projects finish on time, on budget, and on spec, while building trust with homeowners, supporting designers, and guiding project managers. This role reports directly to the VP/CFO and is central to our operations. Responsibilities Preconstruction Partner with Lead Designers and homeowners early to assess feasibility and budget alignment. Collaborate on design development, cost breakdowns, and field checks to ensure jobs meet profitability goals. Own construction budgets in our project management system. Guide project partners through final design reviews, permit prep, bidding, estimating, and material takeoffs. Align schedules, delivery timelines, and subcontractor planning before ground breaks. Coordinate preconstruction meetings with PMs, subcontractors, and homeowners to solve issues before they arise. Production Oversight Lead field operations via project managers, ensuring specs and timelines are met. Act as the primary production contact for customers. Ensure subcontractors meet scope, quality, and safety requirements. Coordinate materials, inspections, and equipment needs through PMs. Create and maintain master project schedules with 3-week lookaheads. Lead daily problem-solving across departments and field teams. Monitor for scope creep and keep change orders tightly managed and documented. Quality Control Own and implement the company-wide QC program. Perform field reviews to ensure work meets Jackson Carter’s standards. Lead punch list walkthroughs with the team and homeowners. Analyze and discuss cost overruns, field issues, and supplier challenges in post-mortem meetings. Evaluate and coach project managers and field staff. Implement incentives to reward high performance. Recruit and manage subcontractors, ensuring coverage across all trades. Develop strategic partnerships with vendors to standardize materials, pricing, and delivery. Support the VP/CFO with day-to-day management and approvals. Provide clear documentation of procedures and ensure all stakeholders are trained. Requirements Experience 5+ years of residential construction management experience Proven track record in managing remodeling and new build projects from design to final walkthrough Experience with scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and quality control Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred Skills Strong knowledge of homebuilding systems, codes, and the project lifecycle Able to read blueprints, conduct site inspections, and coordinate trades Familiar with estimating tools, project management software, and Microsoft Office Conflict resolution and customer service savvy Confident in working with local jurisdictions for permits and inspections Comfortable explaining technical topics to non-technical homeowners Work Style Strategic thinker with strong leadership instincts Clear communicator who keeps stakeholders informed Detail-oriented but not a micromanager Takes ownership, meets deadlines, and adapts quickly Collaborative, respectful, and focused on team development Committed to learning and continual process improvement Responsive to essential business needs outside regular hours Physical Requirements Ability to navigate active job sites, including stairs and uneven terrain Occasionally lift and move materials up to 50 lbs Must pass a drug test Valid driver’s license and insurance required Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 annually Bonus Pay Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance 401(K) Matching Paid Time Off Company phone for essential business use Why Jackson Carter?
