The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Facilities Services is looking for a Maintenance Generalist, Journey to help us

Keep Alaska Moving! This position is based out of an office in Nome and will provide general maintenance support for DOT&PF buildings and facilities primarily in Nome but throughout the Western District. The position requires occasional field inspections and short duration travel depending on the scope of travel. What you will be doing

This position performs tasks to construct, troubleshoot, repair and maintain State facilities within the guidelines of current State Statutes and codes in the most efficient and economical manner possible. Through maintenance and repair, protect the State’s building assets, improve structure longevity and provide for safety and comfort of the building occupants and members of the public. Who we are looking for

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with the core competencies of: Mechanical:

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, installation, uses, repair, and maintenance. Problem Solving:

Uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on knowledge and experience, and referencing other resources as necessary. Attention to Detail:

Thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Education and Experience and Qualifications
