About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Engineer to join our team in developing the next generation of lidar systems. This role is hands-on and hardware-focused, involving the design and implementation of FPGA-based systems that interface with advanced optical technologies. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment where innovation and precision are key.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and verify FPGA RTL code (Verilog/SystemVerilog or VHDL)
Integrate and test features across the FPGA stack
Collaborate with embedded software engineers and hardware designers to define interfaces and system functionality
Develop automation scripts to streamline development and testing
Create documentation and communicate technical details across teams
Support bring-up and debugging of custom hardware platforms
Day-to-Day Breakdown
40% FPGA RTL Development
40% Software-adjacent tasks (Embedded C/C++, Python scripting)
20% Documentation and cross-functional communication
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
5+ years of experience in FPGA development including:
HDL coding, simulation, test bench creation, synthesis, and timing closure
Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog (or VHDL)
Strong C/C++ skills for embedded systems
Experience with Xilinx Zynq or Intel Arria SoCs
Familiarity with Xilinx or Intel FPGA toolchains
Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)
Preferred Skills & Plusses
Experience with HLS, Vivado, and Vitis tools
Background in DSP and algorithm development
Familiarity with UVM and advanced verification methodologies
Proficient in scripting languages (TCL, Python, Bash)
Exposure to industrial safety systems and functional safety development processes
