We are looking for experienced translational scientists to advance understanding of disease biology, mechanism of action, and predictive biomarkers in our late-stage clinical oncology portfolio. Ideal candidates have a strong scientific background, effective communication skills, and experience in a matrixed industrial environment. The Clinical Biomarker Lead will develop and execute translational strategies in solid tumor oncology for assigned programs, acting as a lead scientist to implement biomarker strategies for clinical programs, and to develop reports and publications supporting asset development and regulatory submissions. The role involves cross-functional project teams with disease and lab scientists, as well as BMS members from clinical, medical, commercial, regulatory, and diagnostics. External collaboration with academic partners and KOLs is expected. This position can be located in Princeton/LVL, NJ; Summit, NJ; or Cambridge, MA. Responsibilities
Integrate translational research and clinical development, developing biomarker strategies aligned with clinical objectives, leading data generation, interpretation, and communication to development teams. Understand the external research environment and coordinate with internal and external functions to execute translational development deliverables. Engage functional groups to develop, champion, implement, and align biomarker strategies for development projects to support the R&D portfolio goals. Define, revise, and progress translational biomarker plans with matrix leadership; analyze progress and solve problems to deliver key data and interpretations for decision making. Deliver high-quality biomarker strategies for understanding mechanism of action/resistance, target engagement, pharmacodynamics endpoints, and patient selection. Ensure outputs meet established project standards and align biomarker strategies with clinical operational plans and functional capabilities to deliver robust translational biomarker data packages. Build productive relationships with team members interacting with the translational clinical biomarker group; interface with functional areas to secure resources and strategic alignment. Communicate key biomarker program information, risks, and milestones; manage information flow across team members. Qualifications
Ph.D. in Oncology, Immunology, or related field with 5-8+ years of industry experience; 3-5 years in oncology/biomarkers/translational or correlative research. Required and Preferred Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of principles and methodologies within drug discovery or clinical development; understanding of translational research, medicine, and clinical biomarkers in drug development. Demonstrated knowledge of oncology and/or tumor-immunology biology; preferably with an understanding of immuno-angiogenic therapies. Experience with biomarker strategies and clinical development; strong communication and collaboration skills in a matrix environment. Starting compensation range is 186,000–218,000 USD, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities based on eligibility. The starting pay rate considers factors such as required skills, location, and experience; final compensation is determined by demonstrated experience.
