Microbiology Solutions Architect (MSA) - Capital Sales, Southeast (Field-based)
— BD Nogales Norte The Microbiology Solutions Architect will be responsible for driving sales revenue creation, including automation capital sales, service and software sales for the BD Kiestra microbiology automation line. Market development into IDN, acute care hospitals and reference labs will be accomplished through a consultative, matrix-team solution sale. Typical buying cycles are complex, spanning 24–36 months with senior-level decision makers involved. Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic account sales plan to achieve sales of the BD Kiestra product line and related pull-through products within hospital and reference lab environments Lead without direct authority by partnering with Strategic Customer Group leaders, Marketing, Distribution, Applications, Service and Project Management Present clinically relevant product features with economic justification using existing tools and develop new tools as needed Coordinate decision-makers to reach contractual purchase agreements for BD Kiestra and related products Maintain realized revenue and ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing engagement Meet or exceed the overall sales plan for the designated product platform and maximize contract value Communicate BD’s long-term strategic direction to customers and demonstrate the value proposition of the full product portfolio Manage the sales process within clinical laboratory stakeholders and hospital administration in the assigned territory Foster existing relationships and establish new ones with clinical lab administration and executive leadership Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, biology, business, or related field Minimum 5 years of documented sales success in large-dollar capital equipment sales Experience in capital sales to hospitals and reference labs; solution selling in a matrix environment Strong negotiation, financial modeling, and CRM/Salesforce skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including C-suite presentation abilities Ability to travel 50–75% of the time Valid driver’s license with three years of driving history and ability to meet BD auto safety standards About BD
