Overview

Senior Data Governance Specialist within Children's National Hospital. You will lead data governance efforts within assigned data domains, apply advanced Data Ownership and Stewardship structures, identify and resolve complex data quality issues, and oversee enrichment of the data catalog with domain and system knowledge. You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and drive strategic data governance initiatives to support business goals and ensure data integrity across the organization. Base pay range

$92,684.80/yr - $154,460.80/yr Responsibilities

Lead data governance efforts within assigned data domains. Apply data ownership and stewardship structures. Proactively identify and resolve complex data quality issues. Oversee enrichment of the data catalog with domain and system knowledge. Mentor junior staff and collaborate with senior stakeholders. Drive strategic data governance initiatives to support business goals and ensure data integrity. Maintain and update data domain data analysis and cataloging efforts. Develop and execute data governance scripts and reports as needed. Represent data governance in cross-functional initiatives and ensure adherence to policies and standards. Remediate data quality issues and monitor data ownership/stewardship compliance. Qualifications

Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science). Required. Minimum Work Experience : 6 years of related experience or equivalent; deep functional knowledge in data governance and related duties. Required. Required Skills/Knowledge : Strong knowledge of data governance principles and enterprise information asset management. Experience with large datasets, data verification, data management, and data profiling. Experience with Master Data Management and Agile software development. Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work independently with demonstrated analytical and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present complex findings clearly. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities. Functional Accountabilities

Serve as the Data Governance Representative for the data domain; lead workgroup meetings and uphold the charter. Provide data analysis and develop code for domain-related needs. Lead the curation of the data catalog for the data domain. Maintain master data for key data areas and monitor data ownership/stewardship. Develop, execute, maintain, and troubleshoot scripts/reports using SQL, Excel, or other tools. Identify rules to enhance data quality and remediate issues. Comply with policies and standards; perform other duties as assigned. Location and Schedule

Primary location: Maryland – Silver Spring. Work locations include Inventa Towers. Job type: Information Technology, Operations. Position status: Regular, Day shift, Monday–Friday 8–5.
