BD Excellence Director of Portfolio Value Improvement

We are recruiting for a highly driven cross-functional leader with proven new product development (NPD) and technical leadership to drive execution, standardization and promote best in class practices for portfolio value improvement projects such as gross profit (GP) enhancement and value analysis, tariff mitigation and value engineering (CTW) initiatives. The role will help to drive BD Excellence tools and methodology forward in the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) business to drive long term strategy execution. Responsibilities

Serve as independent reviewer of GP and CTW strategic initiatives, promoting speed design reviews (SDR), problem solving plans (PSP), and timeline assessments for all six MDS business units. Maintain consistency and integrity of key milestones and dashboards related to GP and CTW active projects across all six MDS business units. Regularly report to and interact with MDS BU PM leaders, executives and/or major customers to provide visibility on key progresses and outstanding risks to facilitate portfolio investment analysis and trade-off decisions. Conduct required training to improve PMO competencies and share lessons learned across all six MDS business units. Consolidate tariff mitigation impact reporting. Support BD Excellence implementation. Scope and Strategic Orientation

Monitor project vitality and risk management to ensure effective use of project buffers, acting as independent reviewer and mentor for project managers driving execution. Review innovation pipeline metrics to ensure adequate risk retirement of design and manufacturability risks and robustness of market studies, balancing ROI and clinical needs. Drive initiatives such as SDR, PSP and program evaluation and review technique (PERT) to accelerate project execution and proactively manage risks. Ensure definition, tracking and achievement of key metrics related to GP and CTW across all six MDS business units. Maintain urgency, facilitate meetings to address obstacles, and hold team members accountable to program commitments. Anticipate and mitigate risk points. Make tradeoffs between time, schedule, cost, and quality while meeting safety and regulatory requirements. Provide mentorship and exhibit strong technical expertise in product development processes. Demonstrate project leadership skills including critical path definition, optimization, monitoring, and management to ensure efficient time to market. Sphere Of Influence

Interact with PM BU leaders, executives and major customers. Influence senior leaders on matters of significance and present technical, strategic and business information. Present to cross-functional teams and leadership when needed. Direct Reports

2 direct reports. Functional leadership for Sr. Program Managers and/or Program Managers accountable for business deliverables within the MDS portfolio. Qualifications and Essential Functions

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; postgraduate degree preferred. PMP certification highly desirable; PMI-ACP or similar Agile certification highly desirable. 15+ years’ experience in product development, manufacturing, operations and/or engineering. Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement experience preferred. Knowledge of FDA Design Control (21 CFR 820) and EU regulations (ISO 13485/eUMDR). Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills; ability to influence without direct authority across geographies and partners. Experience with complex disposable and durable medical device product development and system integration. Locations
