La Crosse Glass Company seeks a strategic Director of Project Management to lead our commercial storefront and glazing project operations. We are a locally owned overhead door, commercial glass and glazing sub-contractor based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, serving Office, Healthcare, Education, Renovation and Interior Finish Out sectors within a 90-mile radius.
Position Overview
Lead our project portfolio with executive oversight of multiple concurrent projects valued up to $3M+ while driving operational excellence, team development, and business growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead comprehensive project portfolio management from business development through closeout
Develop and implement project management methodologies, standards, and KPIs
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency and profitability
Collaborate with Business Owner on strategic planning and resource allocation
Project Execution & Team Development
Oversee contract scope execution across multiple projects within budget and schedule parameters
Direct procurement strategies and vendor relationship management for optimal outcomes
Mentor project management team members and establish standardized processes
Lead cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Fabrication Managers, and installation crews
Stakeholder Management & Operations
Serve as primary liaison with General Contractors and key clients, leading project meetings
Provide strategic updates to senior leadership and facilitate complex issue resolution
Coordinate fabrication schedules, quality control, and compliance with safety standards
Drive adoption of new technologies and project management software optimization
Required Qualifications
Experience & Leadership
5+ years progressive project management experience in commercial construction
2+ years in leadership roles managing project teams
Demonstrated success managing project portfolios exceeding $10M annually
Commercial glazing, curtain wall, aluminum storefront construction experience preferred
Technical & Core Competencies
Advanced blueprint reading and specification interpretation skills
Proficiency with project management software and construction technology
Strong financial acumen, budget management, and analytical problem-solving
Exceptional communication skills and proven client relationship management
Strategic thinking with operational detail orientation
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
PMP, CCM, or similar project management certification highly desirable
