Associate Director, Field Effectiveness (Rare Disease) – Hybrid role in Deerfield, onsite 2-3 days a week. Join Amgen’s mission to serve patients. Be the liaison for all Field Excellence capabilities, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of field effectiveness initiatives. Serve as the strategic advisor to sales leadership (NSDs and Regional Directors), ensuring connectivity of sales force strategy & execution across cross-field excellence initiatives and broader CD&A (field reporting, field alerts and suggestions, etc.). Lead or co-lead special initiatives and projects (e.g., Sales Force size & structure, launch readiness, pilot test and learn).
Assist the Director in developing and executing field effectiveness strategy and programs across the portfolio, with focus on your business unit. Implement tactical plans to enhance field force productivity and efficiency. Collaborate with US Analytics, Reporting, and other stakeholders to develop robust sales force metrics and dashboards; regularly assess field performance metrics and trends to identify improvement opportunities and propose solutions aligned with strategic objectives. Facilitate coordination and execution of field force projects including customer targeting, field reporting, field alerts/suggestions, omnichannel/digital, and field transformation. Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of managers and senior managers; establish clear performance metrics and development paths aligned with business goals. Work with the broader Commercial Data & Analytics (CD&A) team and cross-functional groups to ensure integrated field strategy execution and prioritize analytics needs. Monitor industry trends to stay ahead of competition and evolve capabilities to meet changing business needs. What We Expect of You

Doctorate degree with 3 years of experience in sales analytics, field effectiveness or life sciences management consulting, and/or field sales in pharma/biotech. Or Master’s degree with 5 years of related experience. Or Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of related experience. Or Associate’s degree with 12 years of related experience. Or High school diploma/GED with 14 years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications
Strategic thinking and ability to influence sales leadership. Critical thinking with strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and adapt strategies. Project management to lead cross-functional improvements in field operations. Collaboration and communication to align stakeholders; team leadership across matrix environments.
