Overview
This is a full-time onsite Perfusionist role. The Perfusionist will be responsible for operating extracorporeal circulation and autotransfusion equipment during medical procedures, primarily focusing on cardiac surgery. Daily tasks include managing heart-lung machines, monitoring patients\' vital signs, administering medications or anesthetics, and ensuring the patient\'s circulatory system operates effectively during surgery. The Perfusionist will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical personnel to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes. Responsibilities
Operate extracorporeal circulation and autotransfusion equipment during medical procedures, primarily cardiac surgery. Monitor patients\' vital signs and respond to changes during surgery. Assist with administering medications or anesthetics as required within scope of practice and institutional protocols. Ensure the heart-lung machine and other circulatory support devices function correctly throughout procedures. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to promote optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications
Perfusion skills and knowledge of cardiopulmonary functions Experience in medicine, particularly in cardiac surgery Competence in managing equipment and procedures related to surgery Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) is preferred Bachelor\'s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience Location: Los Angeles, CA
