USC Department of Surgery is recruiting a Staff Perfusionist I for our Clinical Perfusion Division. The Staff Perfusionist I will operate extracorporeal circulation equipment to support or replace patient cardiopulmonary/circulatory function and manage and monitor patient physiological functions. Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training Minimum Experience: 3 years; combined experience/education may substitute for minimum work experience Three years’ experience as an adult perfusionist, with some experience as a pediatric perfusionist Graduate from school of perfusion technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), or its predecessor, the AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification, or board eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) Attends and completes all hospital-required safety training courses; maintains ABCP certification; and certifications for CPR, BLS, and/or BCLS Demonstrated attention to detail, and strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in perfusion science or related field; previous experience in an academic medical environment; demonstrated crisis management experience; membership in relevant professional organizations; language skills beyond English (e.g., Spanish, ASL) and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups Compensation: Hourly rate for this position is $78.86 - $84.00.
