Head Girls Flag Football Coach Port Angeles High School
Port Angeles High School is seeking a Head Coach for its newly sanctioned Girls Flag Football program, beginning in the 2025–26 school year. This is a varsity-only team, limited to 29 or fewer athletes, with support from one assistant coach. The Head Coach will be responsible for all aspects of program development and day-to-day operations, including coaching, communication, scheduling, travel, equipment management, and athlete supervision. The successful candidate will establish a positive team culture that reflects Port Angeles High School’s core values and will ensure compliance with WIAA regulations, NFHS rules for Girls Flag Football, and Title IX expectations. This is an exciting opportunity to build a new program from the ground up in a school and community that values high-quality athletics and student development. Qualifications
Strong understanding of NFHS rules for Girls Flag Football High school or middle school coaching experience required Collegiate playing experience in football or flag football may substitute for coaching experience Must meet or be willing to obtain all WIAA coaching certification requirements Must prioritize sportsmanship, work ethic, consistency, and effective communication with players, staff, and the community Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain prior to the season Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills Ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes and teach fundamental skills and strategies Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to student-athlete development, academic success, and sportsmanship Upholds Port Angeles coaching expectations around preparation, integrity, and community engagement Ability to maintain student confidentiality and follow all district and school policies Must be at least 21 years of age
