Job Summary At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club.
We are responsible for the end-to-end Guest and Cast experience for technology initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, PhotoPass, Merchandise and Operations Workforce Management lines of business.
Role & Team This Senior Product Manager will be responsible for product strategy, concept development, and defining and executing these initiatives in collaboration with our key stakeholders and partners for the Workforce Management portfolio. The role will have an understanding of business and technical capabilities, identify gaps and deliver product roadmaps for new capabilities. A successful candidate will be highly collaborative, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization while wearing multiple hats, be comfortable working autonomously, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, simple products and applications. As the subject matter expert for workforce management, the role will be a liaison to development, implementation and support teams as well as support projects, enhancements, backlog and prioritization of features and capabilities.
What You’ll Do
Contribute to the creation of the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our Onsite Experience Portfolio (Map, List, Curated Maps, Detail Pages) across functional product areas.
Collaborate with Product Managers at all levels within the portfolio, supporting initiatives across multiple programs, including Product Operations and Sustainment, Platform enhancements, and new and emerging products.
Collect, maintain and prioritize product vision and requirements from business partners. Work with the technology team to define and document the detailed requirements. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to gather requirements for large scale projects. Assert influence by driving complex projects to completion effectively and efficiently.
Serve as a subject matter expert on the business, associated processes and systems.
Escalate issues and make informed recommendations to drive product effectiveness.
Act as a thought partner and mentor to other Product owners on the team.
Support digital teams in a data-informed way, using industry qualitative and quantitative research, documentation, reporting/analytics, project coordination, testing, and general coordination of feature launches/improvements.
Provide advice and recommendations on emerging trends which will be useful to both the business and IT in the delivery of the projects.
Actively practice a hypothesis-driven and test measurement approach, while staying tuned into marketing technology trends and new emerging technologies.
Champion the role of Product Owner with writing user stories, backlog refinement and prioritization, and user acceptance testing.
Impact the decisions of our technology partners and provide continuous feedback to ensure that requirements are being met. Represent for product management in daily activities related to product roll-out. Attend daily scrums to drive priority decisions and address roadblocks.
Work with development teams by ensuring they have a deep understanding of the product objectives and priority, and helping the teams translate the product concepts into user stories, epics, and other appropriate product documentation.
Build positive relationships with critical team members (fellow product managers, engineering, data, creative, pricing, revenue management, marketing, sales, operations, etc.) to build and lead scope expectations across product lines, destinations, and brands within Disney Experiences.
Present vision and strategy plans to executive leadership through the entire project lifecycle for the portfolio’s products.
Manage the scope and traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that they are understood by the project team and met by the delivered solution.
Participate in functional design, construction and testing.
Ensure the benefits, impact and release of all changes are tracked and managed.
Ensure the required outcomes are built, tested, communicated, and delivered on time and within budget.
Required Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of product management or equivalent experience driving product strategy and execution
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
Basic knowledge on Public Cloud Technologies like AWS
Understand the nuances of data pipeline issues & solutions
Understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD)
Ability to think strategically and drive ideas into action, with a positive outlook and willingness to take personal initiative
Demonstrated ability to identify, understand and drive resolution of complex critical issues
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience with JIRA, Smartsheets, or similar tools
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in J2EE, Java, SQL and non-SQL technologies
Strong technical product knowledge in workforce management
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or similar field or related work experience
