A leading global financial institution is hiring for a VP on their counterparty credit team, focused on assessing and managing credit exposure to financial counterparties across trading and lending activities. The position involves credit analysis, transaction approval, risk mitigation, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to support strategic risk decisions. The Credit team is responsible for overseeing and managing credit exposure to trading and lending counterparties. Utilizing deep expertise in financial analysis and risk management, the team ensures that exposures remain within the organization's defined risk appetite. With a global presence and a diverse team of professionals, Credit Risk collaborates closely with various departments across the firm. This structure offers team members broad exposure to financial markets and operations, fostering a dynamic and multifaceted work environment. Location: Salt Lake City, UT Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities

Conduct fundamental credit analysis of financial institutions, evaluating both quantitative and qualitative factors. Manage credit risk across a portfolio of financial institutions, covering derivatives, loans, funding, and deposits. Approve transactions and ensure appropriate documentation and risk mitigants are in place to minimize potential losses. Underwrite lending transactions and contribute to internal approval processes. Recommend and justify internal and regulatory risk ratings for counterparties and transactions. Lead or support research and analysis of financial institutions, including periodic reviews. Present credit assessments and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Monitor counterparties and industry sectors, reporting relevant developments and potential impacts. Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in credit risk management, fixed income research, or related roles focused on financial institutions. Strong understanding of various financial institution types (e.g., banks, broker-dealers, insurers, mortgage companies). Familiarity with derivatives, lending products, and associated documentation (e.g., ISDA, CSA, credit agreements). Knowledge of regulatory risk rating frameworks and their application. Experience conducting due diligence with senior management of counterparties. Proven ability to make independent decisions and influence outcomes. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to lead and mentor junior team members. Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Core Competencies
