Overview
Position Title: Cheer Head Coach
Location: Rocky Mountain Prep SMART - High School
Compensation: $3,800 to $5,248 depending on years of experience. The total compensation will be paid in equal monthly installments during the duration of the coaching role. This is a temporary, part-time position and is not benefits-eligible.
We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a movement comprised of incredible educators, families, scholars, and advocates who are changing the face of public education in Colorado by democratizing college access and preparation for historically marginalized students and families. On paper, we are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students as young as twelve weeks through twelfth grade.
During the 2024-2025 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals:
85% Staff Retention
100% of campuses going green & ECE-2nd grade students growing an average of 1.25 years in math and reading
100% of seniors accepted into college
40% of 3rd-8th grade students meet their Accelerated Reader millionaire goal
RMP meets its network enrollment goal
Season:
First practice - November 1, 2025
Last Practice - March 1, 2026
Summary of Essential Functions
Follows the rules and regulations of the school and the league of participation.
Attend mandatory preseason rules meetings.
Attend post-season coaches' meetings.
Meet with the Athletic Director regularly throughout the season to discuss progress.
Time-sensitive communication with the Athletic Director.
Utilize provided development opportunities provided by the Athletic Director and the Network Athletic Director.
Attend pre- and post-season meetings with DPA Athletics
Organize, schedule, and supervise practice sessions (min. 2x/week)
Communicate any practice changes to the Athletic Director.
Manage the staff of assistant coaches and any managers.
Supervise and be responsible for the equipment in your sport, including handing out and collecting uniforms.
Responsible for communicating and disseminating information to players, families, and the broader school community as needed, related to practice schedules, tryout information, and any other relevant program information.
Maintains appropriate supervision of his/her program at all times (locker rooms, practices, events, bus rides, etc.). Supervises any and all space used by athletes while they are present, including post-game and post-practice.
Ensures that the team will reflect the proper attitude and conduct at all times.
Represents the school in a professional manner in demeanor, language, and conduct.
Any ad hoc duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
RMP Requirements
Experience preferred, demonstrable understanding of the sport, seeking to coach.
Teamwork and teambuilding skills
Communication skills, unwavering commitment to growing personally and professionally as an anti-racist and anti-oppressive organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Speaks Spanish
Demonstrated success working with students from historically marginalized communities
