Overview
A global investment management firm with a diversified platform is seeking a Finance and Tax Manager. The firm oversees a broad portfolio across private equity, venture capital, credit, real assets, and other alternative investment strategies. Known for its collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, the organization emphasizes innovation, continuous learning, and cross-functional engagement. The General Partner Finance team manages the operational, accounting, tax, and reporting functions for the firm's general partner entities. These entities span multiple investment strategies, providing team members with wide-ranging exposure across the organization. The team collaborates closely with internal departments such as fund accounting, tax, legal, compliance, HR, corporate operations, and IT, as well as external advisors. An ideal candidate will be coming out of a Big 4 Tax background.
Responsibilities
Managing partnership operations including cash flow, capital calls, distributions, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance
Overseeing carry, vesting, and profit/loss allocations
Leading quarterly and annual fair value reporting and financial reconciliations
Coordinating tax estimates and annual reporting in partnership with internal and external tax professionals
Maintaining accurate records in fund accounting systems
Supporting investor onboarding, reporting, and inquiries related to compensation structures
Driving team initiatives, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to cross-functional projects
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of accounting experience in financial services, with expertise in investment structures and partnerships
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgment
Professional, collaborative, and able to communicate effectively across all levels
Self-motivated and capable of working independently
High level of discretion with sensitive information
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience with fund accounting software (e.g., Investran or similar) preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA and/or Master\'s degree preferred
Background in public accounting or partnership-focused roles is advantageous
