Staff Hardware Engineer – Embedded Architecture | $140–170k + Bonus This role is based full-time in Buffalo Grove, IL. Relocation support available. What You’ll Do
Architect full embedded hardware systems with scalability, cost, and reliability in mind Lead complex projects from concept through to high-volume production Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and sourcing teams Design and validate PCBs in
Altium Designer , including high-speed layouts Guide board bring-up, system integration, and debug cycles Mentor other engineers and perform peer reviews Research new technologies and advise on next-gen design approaches Maintain project documentation and manage timelines with PM teams What You’ll Bring
10+ years of embedded hardware development experience Extensive PCB design and layout experience using
Altium Designer Demonstrated success leading architecture and design for production-grade hardware Strong prototyping, debugging, and test experience with relevant lab instrumentation Experience with
microcontroller-based systems , board bring-up, and firmware collaboration In-depth understanding of signal integrity, impedance matching, and circuit simulation Strong documentation and task planning skills Ability to mentor peers, guide design best practices, and stay ahead of technology trends Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent) Seniority level
