Optum New York (formerly Optum Tri-State NY) is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our team in Middletown, NY. Optum is a clinician-led care organization working to change how clinicians function and live. As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you’ll contribute to our vision to make healthcare better for everyone. This role supports growing a practice and patient panel within a culture of innovation and team-based care. Position Highlights: Physician-led, patient-centered, team-based environment. Independent practice with strong affiliation to a local tertiary care hospital providing a full range of gastroenterology medicine. Collegial multispecialty group with a large referral base and focus on provider wellness and collaboration. Surgery Center/ASC centers nearby with ownership opportunities after tenure. Full support staff (Advanced Practice Clinician, Medical Assistants, Administrative teams) and practice management systems to support clinical work. Support to grow your practice and patient panel. Primary Responsibilities
Consult with patients to understand health concerns and perform specialized tests to diagnose and treat conditions. Perform endoscopic and colonoscopy procedures (ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound experience highly preferred). Examine patients in clinic, hospital rounds and perform surgical procedures as needed. Consult with patient’s primary care physician and other specialists. Serve as collaborating physician to assigned Advanced Practice Clinician(s). What makes an Optum organization different?

Required Qualifications: Residency training in Internal Medicine. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Gastroenterology. Unrestricted medical licensure in New York (or NY license application submitted/in-process). Active and unrestricted CDS permit (or ability to obtain prior to start). Active and unrestricted DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to start). CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start). Preferred Qualifications: ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound procedure experience. Why Optum?
