One of the regions fastest growing civil contractors is hiring a Chief Estimator in Dallas. My client specializes in Heavy Highways, DOT, Underground Utilities and Earthworks. If youre ready to leave your mark, this role puts you in the drivers seat for growth in one of Texass most competitive markets. This role will ensure that you review potential bid opportunities and will organize and supervise a team of junior estimators through take-offs, pricing and bidding. With a sustained 30% year-over-year growth rate, our client is strategically expanding operations into the Dallas market. My client operates on critical infrastructure projects that range from $50M to $200M+. Key Responsibilities
Building a scope of work by meeting with clients and assessing the expectations and objectives of the project. Building effective, long term relationships by exceeding expectations with clients including suppliers, and contractors. Leading the preparation of large, complex estimates for projects more than $50M. Develop and implement new bid and backlog strategies. Attend client pre-bid meetings, job showings, and job site visits. Thoroughly analyze all project plans, drawings, and specifications to determine the full scope of work, materials, equipment, and labor requirements to ensure competitiveness. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field superintendents to ensure a smooth transition from the bidding phase to project execution. Determine and evaluate alternative project execution approaches based on the scope of work and the most efficient and cost-effective execution methods available. Participate in periodic reviews and visits to projects as appropriate. Qualifications
10+ years experience as a Estimator with 5+ years minimum of Chief Estimating experience. Experienced estimating projects from $50M+. Must have experience with Highways, Utility, and TXDOT or DOT. Experienced working with HCSS or Agtek. Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint. Bachelors degree in a Construction or Engineering-related field. Benefits
