We are seeking a Senior Analyst (Real-World Data Analytics) with strong SAS programming expertise and hands-on experience working with large real-world data sources, particularly health insurance claims such as Medicare, in HEOR studies of, e.g., health care resource use, spending, and medication adherence. This role combines technical analytics with research and consulting responsibilities. You’ll contribute to study ideation, analytic specification, implementation, quality review, and dissemination of results. Location
Boston, MA (hybrid, ~2 days/week in office). While we prefer candidates based in the Boston area who can join our team in-office a couple of days per week, we will also consider exceptional candidates for fully remote work within the U.S., particularly in Philadelphia and New York. Responsibilities
Write, test, and maintain SAS programs for data management, cohort creation, and statistical analysis Contribute to study protocols, analysis plans, and project reports Review and document analytic code to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reproducibility Summarize findings for diverse audiences, including client deliverables, slide decks, and manuscripts Support literature reviews and background research to provide context for studies Collaborate with colleagues across all project phases, from design to dissemination Assist senior staff with proposals and client communications Qualifications
Advanced proficiency with SAS (BASE, MACRO, Proc SQL) Substantive, hands-on experience working with real-world data (e.g., Medicare or commercial claims) on HEOR studies Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health economics, epidemiology, statistics, public health, or related field EHR or registries a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects Sustained attention to detail and high standards of quality Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in healthcare consulting or research Proficiency with R (Python, Stata also a plus) Applied knowledge of statistics/econometrics Why Join Medicus?
