Valvoline Global Operations . We are seeking an experienced and visionary Enterprise Architect to join our global Information Technology organization. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for developing and maintaining the enterprise-wide architecture strategy, ensuring alignment between business objectives, technology solutions, and IT governance. This role guides technology decisions, standardizes platforms, and drives innovation across regions and business units. Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Enterprise Architect to join our global Information Technology organization. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for developing and maintaining the enterprise-wide architecture strategy, ensuring alignment between business objectives, technology solutions, and IT governance. This role plays a critical part in guiding technology decisions, standardizing platforms, and driving innovation across regions and business units. Key Responsibilities
Define, develop, and maintain the company’s global enterprise architecture framework to support business strategies and digital transformation goals. Partner with business and IT leaders to align technology roadmaps with organizational objectives. Research and assess emerging technologies for potential adoption and impact on the company’s technology strategy. Provide leadership on major enterprise-level transformation projects (e.g., SAP S4, Salesforce, and other transformative projects including AI). Lead the execution of emerging technology prototype initiatives with technology teams. Understand disruptive forces and business levers to guide investment decisions related to digital transformation. Analyze business and operating models, market trends, and technology to construct future- and current-state business models. Technology Governance & Standards
Establish and enforce architecture principles, standards, and best practices across global IT operations. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide guidance on their adoption to maximize business value. Lead cloud architecture and related services. Utilize enterprise architecture tools to inventory services, applications, and architectures (network, integrations, business capabilities, etc.). Coordinate with audit teams (internal, parent company, vendors) and affiliate companies. Solution Design & Oversight
Lead architecture reviews and oversee major IT initiatives to ensure scalability, security, and interoperability. Collaborate with solution architects and technical teams to design end-to-end solutions aligned with enterprise standards. Participate in Enterprise councils and Architectural Review Boards, providing objective feedback and collaboration. Facilitate business-IT alignment and drive digital business strategies, balancing innovation and growth. Translate and execute data strategy to achieve business outcomes by leading the development of an implementation roadmap for the digital enterprise architecture. Provide viable options and visibility into execution issues. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, business partners, and IT teams. Communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Risk & Compliance
Ensure enterprise architecture adheres to regulatory requirements, data protection standards, and cybersecurity best practices. Identify technology risks and propose mitigation strategies. Relationships with Peers and Stakeholders
Identify and manage relationships between people, processes, information, technology, and other enterprise components. Provide consultative advice on investment decisions related to changes to business and operating models and how technology can enable them. Lead and facilitate interactions with business leaders, product managers, and product owners to communicate risks and implications of product decisions. Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture or related leadership roles in a global organization. Proven expertise in architecture frameworks. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, enterprise applications, integration technologies, and data architecture. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional, international teams. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to multi-task across multiple projects. Competencies & Experience (Preferred)
SAP S4 and/or SAP Analytics experience (preferred for global SAP ERP implementations). Salesforce or other CX applications; Analytics (Databricks, SAP Datasphere/Data Cloud). ServiceNow, Mulesoft, WebMethods, OpenText, SAP CPI. CI/CD – DevOps; Experience with application lifecycle management and cloud platforms (e.g., SAP BTP, AWS). Agile Project Management; Global experience; Oil & Gas/Consumer Products experience; AI (LLMs, ML, NLP, Vision, RPA). Working Conditions / Travel
